Tree in Honor of Late Firefighter
WHITFIELD COUNTY, TN- December 22, 2009.
Members of Whitfield County Fire Department Station Nine dedicated a plaque in memory of Capt. Tommy McTee on Dec. 13.
McTee was a distinguished volunteer member of the Whitfield County Fire Department from Sept. 24, 1981 until his death on Feb. 12, 2009. He became a member of the fire department before Mill Creek had a fire station and when it was constructed became the first volunteer captain of Station Nine in 1984.
“Capt. McTee was a valuable asset to the department and provided a significant contribution in public safety to the Mill Creek / Rocky Face community throughout his long volunteer career,” Fire Chief Carl Collins said.
